How many times have you seen "free gift" and thought that there was a catch
somehow? I know I always think that. The Free Gift I would like to tell you about
is the free gift of salvation through Jesus Christ.
He died on the cross to pay the wages of sin for the world. He paid the price
for us. He offers this free gift of forgiveness and salvation to everyone that will
believe on His name. The Bible says, "The wages of sin is death; but the gift of
God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord" Romans 6:23
Just as if God was handing you a wrapped gift, you must accept and receive
the gift. The Bible says "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord
Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead,
thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and
with the mouth confession is made unto salvation" Romans 10: 9-10
The Bible also says "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord
shall be saved" Romans 10:13
To receive the free gift of Salvation you must believe Jesus is the Son of God.
Believe that he died on the cross for your sins. Believe that God rose him from the
grave. Accept Jesus as your Savior. Pray a simple prayer and ask God to forgive
you of your sins and accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior. It is the most
important decision you will ever make in your life.
The Bible says "For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels,
nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height,
nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of
God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord" Romans 8:38-39 What a promise!
With all that has happened in our nation and in the world, it is good to know that
NOTHING can separate us from God's love.
Accepting Christ is just the beginning of a wonderful adventure with God! Get to know Him better in a number of ways:
•Follow Christ's example in baptism.
•Join a church where you can worship God and grow in your faith.
•In your church, get involved in Sunday School and Bible study.
•Begin a daily personal worship experience with God where you study the Bible and pray.
